Once you reach the station you don't have to follow it anymore. Examine Derelict Ship - Science Objective You'll need to scan the derelict ship which is to the right and down of your warp in position. You'll learn that you can use the information from its computers to put some of the satellites of the tachyon grid into maintenance mode which will create a hole for you to enter from.
Fly toward the station, but as soon as you see the tachyon grid in-front of you connecting blue lines slow down. Head toward one of the satellites. When you get close enough an option will appear letting you put it into maintenance mode. You can now pass through the grid at this point safely. Exam Subspace Traffic Satellite - Tactical Objective You'll need to scan the subspace traffic satellite which is to the right of your warp in position.
You'll be able to jam the station's scanning controls which will give you a brief opportunity to slip passed the tachyon grid undetected. Travel toward the station until you see the tachyon grid connecting blue lines then slow down.
Klingon captains, on the other hand, can't simply turn to their replicators to solve the problem. Don't worry, they have a different way of gaining the information they need from the Romulans As before, the code will keep cycling every 3 seconds or so. However, with the personal override code you received from the Romulan refugee, you can input it at any time and it will work as indicated by the fact that it remains orange no matter how many times the code cycles.
Through the doors is a huge "corridor" that you can fly down. Watch out for the energy discharges. If you are attempting the mission in a Type 8 Shuttle, your bridge officer will take the time to comment on your choice of vessel. Around the bend in the corridor is another set of turrets, as well as some energy fields which will strip away your shields and damage your hull if you fly through them.
Keep an eye out for the gaps they are constantly moving ; if you fly through them you can avoid taking damage. Regardless, try to avoid going through the fields while battling the turrets. Fly up to the Borg sphere to scan it.
There are some electrical discharges at the tops of the towers below the sphere which can be analyzed on your way. Looks like the sphere's hooked into part of the local systems network. We should be able to exit through the other doors now With the objective complete, proceed across the chamber to the doors opposite the ones you entered.
There are a couple more turrets in the corridor you are entering, as well as those energy fields again. Proceed through and around the corner. As you approach the next set of doors, your bridge officer will jinx it If you were sufficiently diplomatic with Obisek, you will not be attacked until you leave the bay you are currently in.
If you were not, you will be immediately attacked by multiple Scorpion Fighters. Fight off the first bunch, blast the door locking mechanism, and begin your escape. Note: Firing a high yield torpedo salvo at Scorpion fighters almost immediately after you come within engagement range will often catch them while they are cloaking and hence have their shields dropped and still bunched together, giving a good chance to take out several of them in a single attack.
A group of Scorpion Fighters will attack you once you enter the corridor, and another one will attack as you are rounding the bend: if you time it correctly, you can catch them with their shields down as they pass through the energy fields. There is now a Reman Mogai Escort in the central chamber. Unless you are traveling with an ambitious team or are flying a shuttle with high level and high quality equipment , you should avoid this opponent.
Skirt the edge of the central chamber, staying out of its engagement radius, and make for the bulkhead doors at the far side. Once you are close to the doors, blast the door mechanism and get out of the central chamber as fast as you can. Once you're safely in the next corridor, you can engage the Scorpion Fighters that are waiting for you. Note: the Mogai Escort may chase after you into the corridor.
A little Evasive Maneuvers or an engine battery might be necessary to escape. Once these Scorpion fighters are destroyed you can escape down the corridor and into the entrance chamber. Your escape will be blocked by a Bird-of-Prey. Even in a Type 8 Shuttlecraft, it is possible to defeat this opponent and exit the station, at least on normal difficulty. Once the Bird-of-Prey is defeated, head toward the entrance doors.
You emerge from the Vault to face a Reman D'deridex battleship. Fortunately, reinforcements have arrived to assist you. A group of Scorpion fighters will attack you while your ally engages the D'deridex. Take out the Scorpions. Keep an eye out for the Remans firing high yield plasma torpedos at your ally and shoot them down to assist. Note: Your ally can't actually be destroyed. Even if reduced to 0 hull, it will continue to engage the Reman ship, so you don't really have to worry about facing it alone in your shuttle.
Use other weapons for this portion, and kill the fighters individually. Once all the Scorpion fighters are destroyed, you can concentrate on assisting your ally in destroying the Reman battleship. We're going to leave the system under high warp, to draw off any reinforcements that might come looking. Suggest you return to Federation space. Suggest you return to Klingon space. Federation captains now return to Starbase Sierra and speak with Lt.
Klingon captains return to Qo'noS and speak to Visha instead. The Reman commander you encountered is definitely a major player in the disintegration of the Romulan Star Empire. I'm going to send the information you gathered about him over to an old colleague of mine, Dr. Maximillian Peters, for analysis.
If this Reman is a leader in their separatist movement, we'll have to deal with him again, and hopefully Dr. Peters can work up a psychological profile for him and a sociological analysis of the separatists.
Our next step will be to decode the signal intelligence and go through any remnants left from the ship that was destroyed near the Vault. Now that we know that the Remans were hoping to use thalaron weapons, we need to figure out their target location. Right now, Starfleet knows far too little about a civil war in the making, but it will take time to sift through all of the data.
Keep in touch. Starfleet will notify you when we have a lead. Oh, and thanks for the good work, Captain. I'm sure that Temek will have me analyzing data for the next several days. Drop by again to see what we've uncovered. A civil war may well be brewing between the Romulans and the Remans, and we could use this as a wedge to break off some parts of the Star Empire, or at the very least to keep them so busy that we can stabilize our borders and commit our forces elsewhere. Between Sela and this new warrior on the scene, Obisek, the Romulans and Remans are pitted in a battle between two charismatic leaders.
Still, a conflict of this scope usually isn't the sort planned by raw revolutionaries and partisans. Someone has an eye on the bigger picture, and we need to make sure that there isn't a hidden hand.
Qa'pla, Captain. That will be all. We need to learn more about the conflict between Obisek and the Romulans. Sela's forces may indeed be hounding the Remans, but the use of thalaron weapons is unacceptable.
Not even the Klingons or the Breen will stoop to such barbarism. Starfleet Intelligence will be working to decode the list of possible targets you acquired from the base's databanks. The next step may be to investigate these sites and find out why the Remans want to destroy them.
If Sela is stupid enough to wage war against her own vassals, we might be able to use the conflict to our advantage. You were right, however, to destroy the thalaron weapons. They are the tools of a coward. I would rather look my enemy in the eye as he dies. Klingon Intelligence will be working to decode the list of possible targets you acquired from the base's databanks. The next step is to find out why the Remans want to attack these locations.
After completing The Vault, you will be able to ask a question of your mission contact regarding the events of the mission. Obisek and his people have travelled a most difficult path. After so many years of oppression and Romulan treachery, it does not surprise me that they are suspicious of anyone. The Remans gained much in the years after the destruction of the Romulan homeworld.
But Sela is more secure in her power now, and she may believe that she no longer needs the Remans as allies. If the Romulans seek to enslave the Remans again, there will be bloodshed.
I had great hopes for the Remans in the days after Shinzon's rebellion and the destruction of Romulus.
They threw off their shackles and stood as the Romulans' equals. The High Council even considered an alliance with the Remans, but they were too suspicious and paranoid for much to come of it. It is better this way. The Remans' fear makes them weak. Star Trek Online Wiki. Spoiler warnings ahead! Star Trek Online Wiki Explore. Main Page All Pages. STO wiki. Quick links. It's a calculated risk. That's part of the reason that we're just sending a shuttle -- we don't want to provoke the Romulans by sending in a starship unless it's absolutely necessary.
Oh, that mythical boogeymen organization. No, this is a standard Starfleet operation, at the behest of Admiral T'nae and supported by Starfleet Intelligence. Borg technology? Thalaron weapons, like the ones used by Shinzon?
Cloaking mines and heavy graviton beams? We're not entirely sure. That's why we need eyes inside. Starfleet will make sure to have a ship or two in range for a rapid response in case of emergency. Hopefully, though, you'll be able to keep things quiet and that won't be necessary. Of course, missions rarely go exactly as planned.
Very well. Remember, you MUST use a shuttlecraft, runabout, or similar small operations craft to undertake this mission. We need on-site intel from the interior of the Vault. Starfleet will not clear you to enter the Haakona system otherwise. Good luck. Head to the Shipyard and requisition a shuttlecraft. You can purchase a runabout for energy credits, or purchase a Delta Flyer from the C-Store, instead of using a shuttle. Klingon Vishka: Our long-range sensors have only picked up limited information about this mysterious "Vault" station.
Based on our scans, it's a massive starbase, and a small ship -- like a fighter or shuttle -- could easily slip into the maintenance areas and possibly some of the interior. Any questions? These days in the Romulan Star Empire, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing, as the Terrans say.
If something arises that changes our estimation of this, you will be notified. A station of that size would be too dangerous to make a main force attack without a massive investment of ships -- and how would we garrison and hold it once captured? It is simply too large to easily staff, notwithstanding the trouble of disarming traps and dealing with captured Romulans and their strange technologies.
We need information before we commit to a battle. The station itself is too large to cloak. Our weapons engineers indicate that scans have detected signs of Borg weaponry and thalaron technology. There was also some combat in that area shortly after the Hobus supernova, but now it has been quiet.
The I. Azetbur will remain cloaked at the edge of Romulan space and ready for a rapid incursion and pick-up if the need should arise. In the event of overwhelming enemy force, of course, we expect you to either make a clever escape or die gloriously.
Good hunting, Captain. Obviously, this station isn't as abandoned as intel suspected. Sensors are reading several Reman ships in the area -- and that's just the ones that we can spot. Avoid patrol vessels and evade sensor nets while approaching the Vault.
Consult with your officers for options. The Remans are all over this system. If we start a fight with one of the ships, we'll probably have to fight them all. And there's no telling how many are cloaked here. We have a number of possible options to explore. All of the construction work out here must've required the use of a lot of worker shuttles and a communication booster for them.
We might be able to dig up some information about the station's communication network if we can find a subspace relay satellite.
Tactical officers can examine the subspace booster satellite for intel. Sensors are reading a small derelict worker ship near some of the asteroid debris. We might find helpful clues there. Science officers can examine the derelict ship for useful information.
The material requirements to make a base of that size must have been enormous. There's a lot of stellar debris here, probably remnants of asteroids or fragments from moons that were mined for raw materials.
We might be able to do something useful with them. Engineering officers can scan the large asteroid for additional information. There's a small patch of nebula gases near the station. The static discharges in the area are highly intense. We may be able to cover an approach to the station by traveling through the nebula. The nebula will disrupt your shields and sensors, but might offer an alternative way to sneak in.
Indications are that this vessel was refitted for asteroid mining. Apparently a containment failure in the engine core led to a massive radiation surge. The engine went into emergency shutdown but all of the couplings and injectors were burned out.
The crew probably died due to instant radiation burns. Looks like the vessel was stripped for parts and left derelict. Science officers can gather data from this ship's computer.
Although the vessel's engine core is a total loss, some of the backup computer systems were left intact. This vessel was used to deploy some of the tachyon detection satellites around the Vault. There's a copy of the network algorithm in the computer memory.
If we get close to the base without passing through the detection grid, we should be able to put a satellite into maintenance mode. Then that will give us a gap that will allow us to slip in to the station itself undetected. Approach the Vault and find a tachyon detection satellites that can be placed in maintenance mode. Looks like the Romulans left this satellite as a communications booster for their short-range worker shuttles.
Unfortunately, it's heavily encrypted. Tactical officers can use their training in electronic warfare to gain useful information from this satellite.
Fortunately for us, it's still active. Approach the Vault and use a packet storm to disrupt its sensor communications. This asteroid is unusually large, and it's clearly been mined by the Romulans, sir. It was probably used for raw construction materials, like most of the debris here. Looks like the fragment has picked up a bit of residual energy from our weapon burst. It'll be radiating energy for a while.
Other than that, it's Engineering officers can gain additional information thanks to their knowledge of material science. Sir, this fragment is full of duranium. With a little bit of radiation, it'll cause duranium shadows on scanners -- which would look like a weapon suite. Use a repulsor to push the asteroid fragment, then follow it through the detection grid. Approaching the tachyon grid perimeter. If we're detected by it, that will definitely alert the Remans. Picking up some unusual energy readings.
We'll need to explore the accessible interior areas and see what we can find. Search the Vault interior for unusual readings and inhabitants. No response to our hails.
Obviously, someone is still living in this area, though. The doors are a massive set of interior bulkhead doors -- they're segmenting the different parts of the base. Possibly a safety measure in case something went wrong in one of the central areas? This defense turret was hooked into part of the security network. There's a security code in its subsystem -- code block Select the appropriate code block when it matches part of the cycling key.
There's nothing left here. Just a giant derelict. It would be best if you left before you find yourself in the middle of something terrible, Starfleet. While the military may still be strong, survivors from the death of our homeworld are still recovering.
Those with powerful allies have fled to more secure colony planets, but common people -- like me -- have to make do as best we can without the supplies and protection of the military, or the aid of our fleets.
We survive where we can and take what we must. It is a miserable, wretched existence. Cold words from an intruder! I am unsurprised that now, when the Empire has suffered its greatest devastation, scavengers swoop in like honorless dogs, ready to take whatever they can find.
For my part, I will give you nothing! The Empire may survive, but what of her people? We will die in cold space or at the knives of Klingons and Humans.
I'm scavenging a living here, and things are worse since the Remans arrived. They kill us wherever they find us, the ungrateful beasts. Brave explorer, are you? Look what all that ambition wrought for our mighty Star Empire. You may think that you're undefeatable, but when your homeworld is blown apart, when everything you care about is reduced to cinders, you realize exactly how tenuous your position in the galaxy really is. Why would you want to go deeper into the station?
To steal what remaining secrets you can from the once-great Romulan people? This article or section does not list all values or entries associated with the discussed subject. Please add any missing statistics or items to the corresponding tables, lists and placeholders. As far as I know, this station was a research facility for various I'm not sure what kinds of secrets the military kept here, but some of us have scavenged up useful components or even weapons.
The station has its own power supply, although many areas are dangerous, or secured against intruders, or under the control of the Remans now. Liharr, one of the other survivors living here, said that he saw some kind of autonomous cybernetic technology closer to the station core. I don't know what that would be, but he said it looked dangerous. Shvara, a doctor, said that this area was still safe for habitation but further out one of the pylons was emitting dangerous amounts of radiation.
To reach the deeper parts of the station, you will need to bypass the containment force field. It uses a cycling timed security check, so if you have a key code sequence, you must synchronize your key with the check.
I have a personal override code that will bypass the synchronization check. I will give you this data. May the Elements watch over us all.
I have responsibilities to people here. You can't take all of us. And where would you take us? To be questioned by your government, because we would all be suspected as spies? We must all make our own way in the universe, and play the game as it unfolds. Jolan tru, Captain. I can provide you with a security code that will let you pass through the bulkhead doors.
